Incredible Graffiti – On A Bathroom Door

It was Wednesday and I was looking forward to my weekly burger.

When you get to a certain age you need to watch what you eat because food tends to stick with you a lot longer than it used to!

My Wednesday treat was a low fat char grilled chicken fillet burger, dripping in a tangy sauce, spread with avocado and lots of other yummy stuff.

Last week, my good buddy Lee said it was the best he'd ever had – and he used to own a burger bar!

The only thing bothering me was that I needed to "spend a penny" and "visit the John … "

Problem was, I knew they didn’t have a bathroom and I was trying to decide whether I should try and find somewhere else to go, or whether I should "hold on"?

But holding on would spoil my meal, so I decided to embarrass myself and ask where customers went when they "had to go."

In typical kiwi (New Zealand) speak Ben laughed and said, "We have one 'round the back."

"Around the back of where?" I asked, confused.

"Oh, you've got to go out down the road and then turn left behind our building."

"Oh, er … ok," I replied sheepishly, and off I went.

It was a bit of a journey and I was surprised because we have laws that if you have a restaurant you have to have a bathroom inside … maybe because this is a burger joint and they're exempt or something?

After wandering around I found my way to the back of their building.

Problem was, there was several doors and because there was no sign I couldn't figure out which one was the "John" - or which was the ladies or the gents!

Nervously I chose a door and knocked.

No answer.

I pushed it open and sure enough it contained "facilities."

Here we will skip the details for a few minutes and jump to the point of this tale!

… I spotted some graffiti on the wall.

Now this wasn’t the most luxurious of places and in most bathrooms that contain graffiti what is written is pretty unmentionable, but this was the exception.

What I read made my day.

I walked out of there a different person – in more ways than one!

I was so impressed by finding wisdom in such unexpected places that I went back in and snapped a pic on my phone!

What was the message that made me smile and made my day?

wishing you the best of days,
